The Accountant is responsible for analyzing financial information, preparing financial reports, and demonstrating the proper application of accounting principles. This includes auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and calculating tax payments and returns. This position is responsible for performing account reconciliations and assisting with audit preparations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the accurate entry and posting of employee timecards and expense reports
- Maintains fixed asset software, runs reports, and records depreciations
- Accurately enters accounts payable invoices, obtaining proper approvals
- Generate invoices and ensures they, along with expenses, are processed accurately and timely
- Produces and distributes pre-bill reports for all entities
- Invoices inter-Company, domestic, and/or international clientele
- Reviews proposals for specialized billing of fixed price projects
- Audits unbilled aging reports for incorrect entries and unbilled projects
- Generates and analyzes aged accounts receivable reports, notifying project managers of overdue accounts
- Performs monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
- Assists management with financial projects and ad-hoc reports
- Generates monthly activity spreadsheets for domestic and international clients, utilizing Microsoft Query Reports
- Prepares and maintains general ledger entries and reconciliations for month end closings
- Collaborates with the management team to perform monthly closes
- Completes multi-currency bank reconciliations
- Reviews and releases accounts receivable and accounts payable batches
- Research financial accounting issues, as required
- Prepares sales, use, and abatement tax schedules and other tax returns or documents to ensure compliance
- Assists with year and tax reconciliations
- Identifies, generates and issues government required forms and reports to applicable vendors
- Assists in documenting and monitoring internal controls
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience, Education, Skills, and Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline is required
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a related position.
Prior experience with reconciling and generating invoices in an efficient, accurate manner is required.
Prior experience preparing budgets and reporting on variances is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of experience, education, or demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the accounting or finance field may be evaluated and considered in lieu of the experience requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software is strongly preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting principles in the applicable location is required.
- Knowledge of international currency is preferred.
- Must have the ability to effectively read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
- Must have the ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines.
- Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness.
