Position Summary
As a Product Compliance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Light & Wonder's products meet all relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements. This involves thorough evaluation and comprehension of both technical compliance regulations and the specific characteristics of L&W’s gaming products. You will be instrumental in facilitating the approval, deployment, and issue resolution of these products within regulated markets.
This role requires strong collaboration across teams, as well as ongoing engagement with key regulatory agencies and independent test laboratories, ensuring L&W's products maintain a high level of compliance and operational excellence
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborative Development: Work closely with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Project Management, and Executive Leadership—to provide technical input on new product development and enhancements to existing products.
Issue Resolution: Partner with internal departments to identify, communicate, and address field product issues. Assist in drafting regulatory notifications and ensuring proper resolution and tracking.
Risk Identification: Recognize and report potential product compliance risks to management for proactive resolution.
Regulatory Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities and independent testing agencies, serving as the key technical contact.
Product & Regulatory Expertise: Build in-depth knowledge of L&W’s products and regulatory requirements to foster effective relationships with regulatory bodies and testing staff.
Submission & Project Support: Assist with the preparation and submission of products to regulatory bodies, as well as managing high-priority projects.
Issue Resolution with Testing Agencies: Act as a point of contact to resolve any issues or discrepancies identified during the submission or testing process with regulatory bodies.
Regulatory Interpretation: Analyze and interpret laws, rules, and regulations to determine filing and reporting requirements, and collaborate with legal teams for any needed regulatory negotiations.
Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with any changes in rules, regulations, or legislation that may affect product compliance.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in gaming compliance, gaming operations, or a similar regulated industry.
Skills & Abilities:
Commitment to delivering top-tier customer service.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
Ability to handle sensitive discussions and negotiate effectively.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn internal systems.
Organized, with a sharp focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open-concept team environment.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a talent for timely issue resolution.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming card with the Nevada Gaming Control Board and other regulatory bodies as needed.
Expected to become a subject matter expert on L&W’s products and regulatory requirements, serving as a trusted resource within the company.
Expected to serve as a key representative of L&W for regulatory agencies, fostering increased trust and confidence in the company’s products.
