What you would be doing:
- Set up a variety of AV and IT equipment in our new studios, following the plans provided by our Broadcast Engineer.
- Assemble and install professional video cameras, including lenses, on-board monitors, and power supplies, ensuring all components are connected correctly.
- Install cameras in the studio and connect them via SDI cables to server room equipment. Verify that digital video signals from the cameras are properly transmitted to video switchers, capturing devices, and monitors.
- Run low-voltage wiring, including video, audio, and network cabling, throughout our studios and facility. This includes installing server racks, cameras, NVR/DVR systems, and other key technology components.
- Handle SDI, XLR, and Ethernet cables, including tipping, crimping, and testing, as part of the installation process.
- Install professional studio lighting fixtures and modifiers in accordance with the lighting plan.
- Analyze and repair any technical issues with equipment and systems, minimizing downtime by quickly identifying and implementing alternative solutions.
- Be prepared to work 8-hour shifts, including nights, to ensure the smooth operation of our studio facilities.
What makes you a strong candidate:
- Proficient in assembling, disassembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing computers and hardware.
- Experience using basic test equipment like multimeters, with a solid understanding of AC/DC circuitry.
- Strong experience in installing and soldering components on printed circuit boards according to specifications.
- Skilled in installing and configuring Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Competence in installing and configuring computer peripheral devices and drivers.
- Hands-on experience with audio/visual equipment and troubleshooting, along with a basic understanding of television control room environments.
- Basic knowledge of operating video cameras and a fundamental understanding of sound equipment, including microphones and audio mixers.
- A strong desire to learn new technical skills and grow within the role.
